Frequently Asked Questions About Recycling Vehicles in Massachusetts
There are a few ways to get rid of a junk car. The easiest and most effective way is to work with a local used vehicle scrapping/recycling facility like Chuckran Auto Parts. We provide free pickup services in our area, or you can always bring the vehicle to our location in Bridgewater. In fact, before you even get started you can contact us for an estimate on what your vehicle is likely worth based on current scrap prices and factors related to the condition of your vehicle.
You can refer to Massachusetts’ state site regarding junk vehicles, but basically stated, any vehicle that is scrapped needs to have ownership transferred to the facility that is recycling the vehicle, and that facility will handle paperwork with the state RMV to ensure that they are aware that the vehicle is being recycled. Once a vehicle is planned to be recycled, it cannot be re-titled.
If you are looking to get the most money for an old truck or car, you need to think about which providers are going to be able to make the most money on your vehicle. For example, a junkyard or a scrap yard that simply scraps metal, is not going to get as much value out of a vehicle as a used auto parts dealer that can assess what parts of your vehicle are in good condition and therefore available for resale. If you are interested in a quote for your vehicle, please give us a call.
